I just purchased a Dosy TR-1000 meter to use in-line on my mobile, I have a 2970dx and a galaxy 350 amp. With the amp on full power the meter says i'm only swinging 150 watts, i tried it with a number of amps and it says the same thing, what am I doing wrong, my swr is about 1.7 and the meter is in between the amp and the antenna, thanks doboy(426) |

Hmmm...Just for the record , How big of power wires are you running and do they go straight to the battery? Is the TR-1000 a Peak Reading meter? (I forgot) 307 |

I have 12 gauge wire running straight to the battery, I don't know if at it a peak reading or not. |

If it is NOT a peak reading meter, that is about right. You will know if it is peak reading when you "Audddddddddio" into the mic , it will slam towards the right. A Galaxy 350 amp is good for about 175 - 225 watts swing...Usually the output is the manufacturing number , such as Galaxy "350" divided by "2" , which is 175 watts... |

12ga wire supplying both your 350 and a 2970? Driving a 350 with a 2970? Are you sure about this? |

you wont hve to worry about it long cause that 2970 will burn up that 350 thats to big a radio to run that amp unless you got the amp section turned off in the 2970 you shoulda got the texas star 350hd at least my ts 350 driven with a 2950 on that same kinda meter would show about 375 watts and i also run a little thicker wire for power |
