There's an adjustment in the radio that will set the sensitivity on that light. |

"what is up with this",.... well, the awi is tuned at the factory to the carrier power of the radio. it works exactly like you swr calibration knob on outside of the radio. the difference here is that it is set to the carrier power of the radio at the factory. when you raise this carrier power, you throw this out of whack. to set the awi back to factory standards, use a non-inductive 150ohm dummyload, key radio and adjust vr6(i think, i'm going by memory) until awi light just lights. now if it comes on, you know you have an swr over 3:1. but if you just do not want to see it come on, adjust until it stops lighting up. it really isn't important since the 29ltd has a built in swr meter. |

yes 150ohms. this is a 3:1 swr (150/50=3). this is what the awi is set for at the factory. you could use a 100ohm load and then it would be set to come on at a 2:1 swr or higher. but it will also be much more likely to come on when mod is added(especially if mod is wideopen) even if antenna is fine. |
