I have heard of and have myself, problems with my Magnum 257 where the volume is full blast when the radio is turned on. I have seen instances where Magnum has replaced the volume pots to attempt to fix this problem. I have also heard, and believed myself that the radio needs to "warm up" before the volume levels out. I do not believe this to be the case. I talked on my radio the entire way home from work (23 miles), turned the radio off for 10 minutes, turned it back on and still had the same problem. I would like to track this problem down. If anyone has any feedback, it would be appreciated. Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |

NO AGC,NO BOOTSTRAP ON AUDIO AMP FOR DEGENERATIVE FEED BACK,THE MORE YOU TRY TO BACK DOWN THE VOLUME THE HARDER THE AUDIO AMP RUNS,GIVE 'ER A COMPLETE OPEN AND SHE'LL GO POOF FROM SELF OCILLATION. |

Magnum Knows about the problem and will repair it even if the radio has been modified...ask them |
