The input carrier to a DX350 needs to be 1w - 1.5w. You should be supplying it with at least 13.5v and 35a. SWR below 1.5. |

If your radio has variable power it should work on ssb as well unless your ALC limiter is hacked. If it is you have no choice but to use the mike gain as the power adjustment....which will work anyway, it's just a little cleaner by setting the SSB power and ALC internally. Don't know what radio you have so I can get specific. Typically the 350 will be ok with about 30w ssb input. |

The Melaka wide open on SSB will not overdrive the 350 in watts, just check your audio with other operators that it is clear. |

I knew a ratchet jaw that drove his 350 with a 146gtl stock watts on ssb and melted the solder traces on the pills, now that guy wouldn't shut up,he got a ts400. |

All the solid state linear amps will over-heat if you have long key down times because the amp is not designed for a 100% duty cycle. Commercial amps can go continuous but they are designed for it. Putting a fan on to cool the heat sinks will extend the key down some. I have driven them hard and easy, on low and high....still the long key downs causes heat build up even with very low SWRs. |
