Hey 307 I'm trying to learn how to adjust this meter ASAP, I wanna go to the mountains tonight and shot some skip. How do I adjust the tune, load, fwd cal and matcher. I have a VR9000 an KLV40 amp with a Wilson 5000. Thanks Metro |

Simple , get a reference SWR measuement , then turn the "load" and "tune" for the best SWR. first set the SWR to CAL , key the mic on AM and set the meter to the delta. Then set the meter to SWR. get a reading and adjust the tune and load for the lowest possible reading. Keep going back and forth between SWR and CAL as you tweek it in... |

307 There is no delta just a red bar about 3/8 inch long on the scale labled cal,I have been calibrating on the center of that and on the delta on the radio scale. Also there is a scale on the bottom in blue from 0-10 labled F.S., what is that? Sorry to be a pain on what is probably a simple thing to everyone else but I'm a newbie and the directions for this thing are in Italian or French! Not a word of English, not one! If I had known this I would have waited and tried to find the Paradynamics somewhere else. No DX last night, at least on SSB. Made a 50+ and 80+ mile contact on AM using the amp. Funny, I made those two to the east but could hear guys on the radio to the west in San Diego only 40 miles away and could'nt raise them. The wind was really blowing out of the west ascross that mountain top like 30-40 with gust of 50+, sounds kooky but could that have something to do with it? Metro |
