Hey all you 2510 experts. Just picked up a 2510 at a local pawn shop. I was wondering about the acc. plug in back of radio. Well I hooked it up to 20amp power supply with a 50ohm dummy load. seems to be operating ok. I don't have a manual for this rig. It took me a while just to get a sound out of speaker. DUH!!! acc. plug has to be plugged in. Ok, What are the wires for on acc. plug, and how can I run a external speaker. I notice there is 7 wires coming off of acc. plug a blue, red, white, yellow and three black wires as well. Looks like freq. mod was performed. What are these radios supposed to putt out, as far as stock wattage. On my Brand New TFC-3001 meters it's showing a 5 watt deadkey on AM and swinging to about 15w. On SSB it's swinging to about 25w.I plan to wire up a RK56 mic and run a Texas Star DX400HDV for my pick up truck. I have heard nothing but good things about this radio, so I went ahead and picked one up. Any info on this rig would be much appreciated. |

Looking at the back of the radio, the top center pin and the top left pin are for external speaker. The power output sounds rightYou can also download a owners manual at: http://hr2510.homeip.net:2510/manuals/hr2510-owners-manual-135dpi.pdf I think I got this address right |

Snapperhead, The acc.plug wires are as follows: Pins 1 and 2--Ext Spkr Pins 4 and 8--P.A Spkr Pins 8 and 9--Morse Key Pins 3,5 and 6 are not used stock power, 10w A.M. 25W SSB. If it is dead keing 5w now,I wouldn't turn it up if you plan to use an amp. Turn it down as far it will go. Here's a link for all the mods for the HR2510. http://members.tripod.com/~Rogerbird/index.html Hope this helps. |

Thanks you guys...I knew I could count on the forum for help with my rig......Takes a while to get used to the freqs. As far as finding particular channels and tuning in and all. I heard these radios have good ears... My beater Toyota has a RCI-2950 (old style). I like radio but the ears on those things are terrible. Thanks again all..........73's |

You're welcome! You will like the HR2510. I have one in my truck and a Lincoln in my home. Two of the best rigs I have owned. OBTW, If you're lookin for a good mic to use on that rig, the D-104 works very well.I have a M1 D-104 handheld laying around collecting dust.If intersted, e-mail me. Happy DXing!
