there is no wax and i still cant turn it,i dont want to break it.what do you suggest i do?

1 more question to,my freq counter is just a hair off on my radio,if i adjust my radio will it show on its freq counter?

As to the tight tuning core I use a Weller iron at 3/4 power and put the tip into the slot of the core for about 5 sec's and that usually frees it up.

ok,what about my vr-9000 frequency counter,it is off a hair,if i adjust the radio will it show on the counter?

No, 671 is the man! Jyd, you would need to align the transmitter and receiver portions of the radio with a good external freq counter. Set the clarifier at its detent and adjust for the correct frequency. With a 1Khz tone injected, adjust for 27.186 on USB, and 27.184 on LSB on channel 19 for example.
