A man wants to sell me a Tex Star DX350 Hdv. He said that before I come over and check it out, I should be aware that Tex Star amps will show a standing wave of 2 or higher, but that it drops way down upon modulating. I take it that this amp does this. What do you gentlemen say about it? |

I have a Texas Star DX400 and have not noticed any unusual standing wave readings . They seem to be in line with the normal readings when on stand by........ |

Output impedance matching is why they do it and yes they have always been notorious for that. The XForce 200hd (same transistors as the dx350) does not have that problem. Higher output, fan cooled, and ability to accept higher drive levels. |

Must be talking about the newer Texas Star's. All the older ones i've seen don't have this problem. |

This one's about 2 years old, I think. Info I'm getting so far says it's certainly not normal. I think I'll pass on this one. Thanks, fellers! |
