I got this little amp in the mail. I opened it up to see if the mod was done to it and it wasn't, so i solderd the wire to the 239 like it says in the mod. I hooked it up to a 148 with 1 1/2 watts. i turned it on and tried to check my match. set the meter, key down and calibrated. when i unkeyed, the meter stayed up. i switched to swr mod and meter stayed. turned amp off everything went back to normal. key up again to check power and got a bunch of static and when unkeyed meter stayed up. had to shut off real fast. any suggestion on problem. |

turned dead key all the way down and it would not do anything. started turning it up and found the best setting to be 2 1/2 watts. works fine now. thanks warlock |

Hello, Does anyone know where I can get a datasheet for the MOS RM3 transistor in the KL-40? I am not sure who the manufacturer is. Thanks, Phil |

Crossbow, I got the same amp and I did not have to mod it. How long of a jumper are you using between the radio and amp? I'm using mine on a old 148 also and using a 6 foot jumper. |
