My radio is hitting a 3 watt dead key and swings to 13. Will their be a problem hooking up the Palomar 250 to that? If so...could anyone reccomend the proper amp for my needs? Thanks. |

With that setting I'd recommend running the Pal 250 in low and medium only. In high position your amp's carrier will be at or over 50% of the total power and could cause distortion or "muffling" along with much heat. That setting of your radio would be better suited to a Pal 400, Cobra 450xl, or XForce 200hd. |

A 3w carrier into a TS 350 HD will yeild around a 200w carrier, a bit hefty for maximum clarity and will run hot. |

You're getting what you should get in "swing", too much in carrier. The carrier should be 1/4 or 1/3 of the peak. Back your radio down so the carrier is around 100w. |
