I have a Varmint SSL 200 that is only working intermitently. Sometimes when I key up it will deadkey around 100 watts but when I mod, it has a bad scratchy sound and then will not key up at all. Any suggestions... |

Some added info... I am operating the amp on a 50amp power supply. I have varied the input wattage from 1-5 watts with the same results with each wattage. The unit was working before I took it out of my car to use it as a base amp. Suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated, I would like to try something else before I buy new pills and completely rebuild the unit. Thanks... |

The problem is most likely carbon build up on the TX relay. You can try to clean it off with a nail file. I have seen this before on the "Varmint" 307 |

I cleaned the relays but it still doesn't work. I'm going to check for a cold joint... any other suggestions? |
