Can anyone help me with some advice?I am being offered a drake power supply for 50.00 dollars and I'm not sure If it's worth that much.I really don't know much about power supply's so if anyone can offer help I'd be greatful. Here are the specs I was given:Drake AC4 Power Supply max.input power is 260watts cw. Power supply outputs are as follows: 650volts DC at 300mA average(500 mA peak) 250voltsDC at 175mA-45to-65voltsDC Adjustable bias 12.6 volts AC at 5.5 amperes I myself don't understand what all that means,So what I'd like to know is it worth 50 bucks? It really looks like it's in good shape,no scratches,no dents, really looks nice. Can I buy a unit like this new for less than 50.00?I noticed in the copper catalog some power supplies called Tripp-Lite.What would be the match for the Drake AC4? Can I run a 50 watt base with a 300watt amp on this drake power supply? Thanks........Westwind |

Ask bruce he might know more. What I do know is this was part of a three piece set of components which included the R4B (receiver) and the T4X (transmitter) in an HF ham setup. For $50 it's worth it as a collectors item even if you can't use it. If it works, I would snatch it up. Steve Tech181 Tech181@copperelectronics.com |
