Hello techs (307) and (181), I have a Uniden pc68xl that I am running to a shooting star 225, I was wondering what the best amount of dead key wattage is to run to that amp and what pots I should turn to achieve this, Also I want this radio to have as much modulation as possible so is there a pot for the modulation or a resister that I might replace with a smaller value, any imput would be greatly appreciated thanx, Barakuda318 |

Also wondering the best way to put talkback into that radio, I have it in there now running a wire from ground to shield with a 200 ohm resistor, but I can not have the mic gain up very much or it squeals, I want this radio to swing very nicely so any help would be appreciated thanx. |

Hey Barakuda,I have a pc68 too.I installed talkback in my radio as well.I used a 1K resistor though I believe it was and it sounded fine, didn't squeal much at all.BEWARE though I burnt my audio chip out by having talkback in that radio SO BE VERY VERY carefull or it'll end up just like my radio.I liked that radio too lol. |

Baracuda, where do you live? If you're not in Va, drop me an email and I'll walk you through what needs to be done on the 68. |

thanks I'll remeber that I think the key to the talkback is in the way its wired I have fried a few audio ic's as well, doing the same thing but after figureing out how to wire it to the audio pin or shield pin I have not had any trouble whatsoever I was just curiouse wether or not I was doing it a good way for that radio, I really like that radio and running through that texas star it has very clean crisp and loud audio, contacted New Jersey with it clear from Springfield Missouri, and he said he thought I was a local, really pleased me, I think I found that the mods for this radio are the same as for the cobra 25 ltd, so I am going to see if the schematics line up for that radio, thanx for your input and 73's to ya. |
