The Galaxy 66 has a single final(2sc1969) right? My question is-Are transistors the same thing as finals? And if so,can you replace the 1969 with 2SC2314?Will it improve my radio or not? Also,I looked on another website and found a kit called a ******* AF power kit. Will this kit improve my radio? If there's any info. you can offer on this subject I would greatly appreciate it.If possible,Please take the time to answer all the questions I've ask here. Some times when I ask multiple questions they don't all get answered. Thank You for your help..//Westwind |

Westwind, I edited your post due to the competition factor here. I have never used one of those kits so I can't say. E-Mail tech307@copperelectronics.com and see if he has. As far as the 2SC2314, I believe that's a driver final. Did you mean the 2SC2312? If so they are pretty much the same transistor. So no you won't notice a difference. The only reasonable upgrade to your 66 may be the voltage regulator, but even that is really not necessary. My view is to modestly tune your radio and let the amp do the work. Why blow $20-$100 building up your radio for an extra 3-15w? |
