I have an old Texas Star Modulator V+. It is designed for AM use only; however I know there is a way to add a delay in it to use on SSB.

God rest his soul.. an old CB tech I knew has done this mod and attempted to show me how, but that was waaay back in my early CB/electronics days. They guy wrote things down worse than a doctor, but he knew his stuff. He used to run his own radio repair shop after he retired from the military as a radio tech. He built all kinds of neat things as well as won many CB key-downs back in the day. Let's just say everyone in my town knew when he came on the air! I sure miss him.

Anyhow... does anyone happen to know how or has access to a schematic that shows how to add the delay in? The 'ol boy warned me not to try and use it on SSB because it didn't have that delay and would usually fry the amp in short order. I have other amps that have that AM/SSB switch, but I really like my modulator.

Digging out my old stuff just conjured-up the old memories and things I've wanted to do. Luckily I still have one of the last radio's he ever built. Kinda sentimental and all. I'll probably be buried with it someday... LOL! Key down from the grave....
