I just purchased a NOS Sears Roadtalker 40 model 934.38111700. I have not been able to find anything about this particular model number. I find some stuff about a model 934.38110700, but I have no idea if that is the same chassis as the one I bought or not.
I have found that I can purchase a photocopy of the service manual from Sams (Not Photofacts), and that the board was likely manufactured by Hitachi, but other than that, I have found absolutely nothing.
Does anyone know anything about these radios? I'm assuming that a 40+ year old radio, whether or not it has ever been used, needs a little TLC, and possibly alignment, before it can be in its original condition, but I don't want to go blind into it. It doesn't sound like it is likely a common chassis, like Uniden or Cybernet.
Anyway, any information would be appreciated. |
