Hi All,.I got an old KRIS XL 23 and channels 3,7,11,15 and 19 put out approximately 2-2.5 watts. Its a lot lower than my wattage on the rest of the channels at 5 to 6 watts. I tried turning the few pots and she seems to be at or near peak. Any ideas out there? Thanks for any responses! |

If it is a crystal locked set, I would suspect a sick crystal may be the issues. Tech237 N7AUS God made me an athiest, who are you to question his wisdom?

A weak crystal is likely. However, a full alignment (not just 'turning a few pots' is in order before making that assumption. Find the Sam's Photofact for that radio and it will have the full alignment instructions in it. Your radio 'Mythbuster' since 1998

OK..Understood. Maybe in the tuning then.. However,I did try a different crystal (10.615)TX only, and there was no change at all. I was also going to suspect the channel selector but all other channels are good...Thanks Again Anyway |

There's one crystal that mixes with another for the channels you mentioned on transmit only. That crystal is a 10.615, if it's a plug in type it might not be seated well. Otherwise it could be going bad. Good luck. Scrapiron CEF 108 |
