Thank you Admin for accepting my application. Hello to all members. After months of reading posts in this forum, it feels great to finally be part of CF. I’ve assembled and am currently tuning a Sirio Sy 27-4 that I bought a year ago. The joy of finding a ‘tuning table’ in Sirio’s website, vanished after learning that there is not sufficient aluminum in the box to stretch into the lengths specified for 26.5 Mhz. Has the original design of the SY 27-4 been changed by Sirio, as to include longer elements? Or; must a user buy the extra length of aluminum required to tune below the regular 40 channels?

welcome to the fourm! when you first got the antenna didnt it come with instructions?should,ve. so its labeled as a 10-11 meter antenna. and 26.5 is below 27 mhz. you could try make elements to longest lenth setting and then adjust gamma but not sure it will be enough. you may need to do this and buy a antenna tuner.to my best iof knowledge i dont think it changed

Hi Dale: I appreciate your alternatives. Followed the in-box assembly instructions, including suggested gamma settings, and got outstanding results on all 40 channels. Radio can go slightly above & below channels 1 & 40, within tolerable VSWR, and without cutting elements. The off-the box performance of the Sy 27-4 is exceptionally great, when compared with my re-scaled Maco 104c. But the tuning table on Sirio's website motivated me to seek greater performance on 26.5 Mhz. In the 'study' phase, I realized that the table proposes element lengths for 26.5 Mhz that cannot be achieved with OEM materials. A tuner is in my medium-to-long range plans, but would like to first try finding a mechanical solution. All elements are pre-drilled, and there is barely @1 inch to play with each 'tip' segment before strenght integrity is compromised. That's why I'd like to know if someone may have ran into this dilemma, and learn how it was tackled. Adding longer aluminum pieces appear a logical solution, but I would not hesitate to sell this antenna if Sirio offers a newer model with longer/ tunable elements to lower freqs.
