i had a bad ground on coax, was shocked on power mic and when that was found and fixed when the amp is off i have great receive but when on it drops off does any one have a idea,thanks

thanks ill check, it works fine but when you hit the power switch on the amp receive goes to about half, i have a tone generator and dummy load i had on ,and the same on antenna thanks.

Maybe, but it doesn't explain why his receive works with the amp off, but still connected.

Could be a bad switching transistor if it is a solid state amp. I had dirty contact's once and it did the same thing. I would do as 833 said. Clean the contact's even if they do not look like they are dirty. 833 is always right.
