ok here is what I got, a cobra 148GTL made in the Philippines in Apr. of 1991. it has some kind of channel mod I never seen. its a 3 pos. switch mounted where the s.w.r cal. s-meter switch used to be. the switch for s w r is just laying inside, ya you saw right , just laying inside. going to put that right later. what I`m confused about is the voice lock unlock.I have been going through all the mods I can find on here and other sites , and My radio don`t have the right color wires on the voicelock, my colors are White Blue Orange can somebody clear me up on the right mod. for unlocking the voicelock? |

I am sure I can identify your freq. mod if you tell me the legs on the MB8719 PLL connected... One i'm sure is isolating pin #9 & controlled by SW. On your voice lock or slider the center term goes to the clarifier on board... One outer goes to ground thru 100 ohm resistor & other outer goes to constant regulated B+ 8volt dc... The constant voltage is what gives you slide on tx & rx... oldtimer113 |

Hello Oldtimer, after opening the radio and seeing the SWR s/meter switch just laying there I didn't take off the other half so I don`t what pins they messed with. the freq. mod was done by removing tha crystal from the board and putting it on a small board mounted to a 3 pos. switch. the mod gives me 40 up and 40 down. The wires on voicelock are blue(center white,(looking from back to front is on left) and the orange wire is on the right. Thanks for your response. |
