I have a 2950dx and I'd like to try to do the old cap mod to it that I've done on the non dx model (add 470pf cap to c270 and 330pf caps on c262 and c261) I can't find a schematic for the dx with the smd board that has bipolars and not mosfets to compare to the old one to find the comparable caps on the new radio. So do any of you guys know which caps to piggyback on the newer 2950dx? |

Contact RCI and they will sell you a service manual with everything you need or want in it. Remember the dx radio's are surface mount and is hard to work with. I have found that the new ( black display) 2950 dx radio's does not need any mod's done for modulation or power. Plenty od adjustment for the modulation. In fact it can over modulate if not careful. If you want power get the 2970n2. |
