I am currently running a Galaxy DX 98vhp in my truck, proper power requirements, sirio performer 5000 roof mounted. the radio has devloped a problem, I will try to explain. If I apply side to side pressure on the channel knob, the frequency begins to drift radicily. It takes a second it to get back on track, but from time to time the frequency will take off on it's own, and it requires playing with the channel slector to stablize. Any one herdd of such a problem, and if so, the possible fix??? |

well i must say sounds like a really nicemobile setup. ive never experienced this on any of my radios, so really hard to say. maybe a bad solder joint. bad channel changer, just guessing here. when this happens does your recieved signal also change??if not then just maybe a bad display. really hope others chime in here dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64 454 [dx numbers] 38lsb

Yes.. the rx is effected as it drifts. . Over the weekend I opened it up to take a peak. Well without taking out the main board I am unable to see all the solder points. I did confirm that it is the slector its self... but I did a good cleaning of the internals of the radio making sure all screws were tight...ect. seemed to lesson the sensitivity of the problem. Oh well.. it works great.. just something i will deal with when I have the time.. thanks again for your time! |
