Just open up the radio and the switch which controls the roger beep look for wires shorted or broken, if none I would just remove it from the switch, roger beeps are not needed anyhow.

reread your post on july 5 and you said the radio goes into TX mode when you turn it on. does it stay in tx mode all the time? if so what does it do when you unplug the mic. if the dead key goes away try another mic.

Hello Guy's...I'm having a very confusing problem with my radio (Galaxy 949 with a hand held D-104 mic)I unhooked the radio from my vehicle for just a few minutes and upon hooking the power cord and antenna back up...and it seamed to have blown my mic,I hooked another mic up to the radio and the same thing happened...is it possible that a mobile CB can do this ?

Can you test the microphones on a different radio to confirm they are bad? I have never known a radio to damage a mic. The only way I see it happening is if someone connected power to the audio pin. Even that seems like a long shot.
