Hi all, sorry for my first post being a question. I recently purchased a President P400 base station unit. There is only 1 issue with it, volume level, it's very low even with the volume turned up fully as well as the RF gain, squelch is down fully. The only way I can use it is if I plug some amplified speakers in the external speaker socket on the back. There are no scratchy sounding pots, everything seems to work well apart from the volume level. Speaker is ok, wire ok as well as the solder areas. Is there an adjustment inside on one of the small pots to get more volume from it? Any info would be much appreciated. Cheers Peter.

Question? does your S meter seem to be functioning correctly? if not I would try tuning the receive. U need a schematic to do this. just tune for maximum noise. Start at the front end and work towards the speaker. It can't hurt just see if you can get the volume to come up. this might help. |

I would just keep using the external speaker and not worry about it if all else is doing good so I wouldn't mess up anything. or try an find the matching external speaker for it. George KI4NBE
