my 148 quits txing when I have the covers off. works somtimes and sometimes it don't. trying to tune my radio. need some help.

thought it might be my test setup but on retesting. radio only put out 1 watt swinging to 4 watts useing a diamond sx 200 meter. apon putting the radio back together radio only puts out 3 1/2 watts swings to about 13 watts. tuned the best I could using the one watt deadkey. this is a 2011 cobra 148 gtl D haven't heared good things about these new 148's.
