what mods can be done to this radio looked thru post havent seen a 148f listed |

nice radios i have 4 the freq counter makes for s great option, but all the normal stuff that you can do to cobras add frequencies i have a 6 position knob on the side 10kc slide useing one of the buttons on the front. unlock the clarifier with the freq counter is nice 18 to 20 watts on SSB 15 on AM pretty much all the normal mods you do to any other radio. but they reall do make nice radios. |

six postion knob on the side does this give extra frequencies looking for that mod on here can only find 2 stich one |

any place you find the mods for a 148GTL side mic version should be the same as he 148F |

Hey Guys,
These are awesome radios! Ive had one since 98. Mods done: Expanded channels, receive mod, variable power, modulation, and open clarifier mod, talk back. Extras added, 5 point roger beep, echo and all that.. The receive mod is a must for this radio...WOW..
I did not do the mods myself so not really much help to you, just sayin the mods are worth it if you can get them done... Works excellent..
But I do have a question. Does anyone know of a source to buy or download the original user manual that came with the 148F GTL? Service Manual?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys, I have a 148 F GTL as well. its not as many mods as Aeneimia`s has but it dose have the v am power pot on the back,it seems to be unstable and I would like to replace but don`t know the ohm value. can you help me with this? thx |
