I'm sure this has been covered, but I cannot find anything to help me change the faceplate and bezel on my Cobra wo LTD Classic. How difficult is it to do? It's Only a Hobby! RC Man 919 CEF #874

its not hard.just take off the covers and pull the knobs off of it.take the 4 screws out of the trim plate.2 on each side hidden by the covers you took off 1st and slide the plastic face plate off then put the new one on in reverse of removal. |

Thanks for the info, but it's not quite that easy. I decided to tackle the job last night. It requires removing about eight small screws holding the front frame to the bezel. It also requires unsoldering the four wires from the mic plug as it must be removed. Fortunately it took only about one hour once I got into it. It's all good now and looking purdy again! I recent took two old 29s and made a working one. They were both side mics but different years. One face-plate came off easy the other was a little tricky. One was made in the Philippines in 1990 the other was made in China in 1995. |
