Hi everybody,

I recently purchased a Madison. This thing has perfect TX but no RX at all. I already checked the audio chip = OK, the C186 = Ok, and the 3 diodes near the antenna plug. Everything seems ok, but still no RX. Can anyone advise me on how to find this error ?

i just re-read my first post and noticed your
post mentioned it had perfect TX.gotta coulpe questions 4 ya
1/doess it show a signal but no audio outta speaker
2/no needle movement ,no audio from speaker
if its the first this may help.
hook up a cheap set of head phone on the ext.jack on back of set. if this fixes it then
your speaker is bad or may need resoldered.

- Speaker is OK, I hear hissing sound.
- Mike is wired correctly, switch from RX to TX is OK, and indicated with green/red LED
- there is no signal detected, the RF meter does not move
- scratching the antenna connector with the cable gives a faint scratching sound, but very very weak. When I do this on my president washington my eardrums hurt...
- switching from AM to FM clearly gives a typical FM noise, but there's no reception of any kind
- when I modulate with another transceiver 1 meter from the madison, I have a very weak signal, but when a few meters away, nothing more.
