I have a Connex CX 4300 HP that will not work. Only thing that it will do is the meter will light up and not even the channel display. Also will not key up or receive. I opened up the cb and seen next to the final transistor at the coil the board was black around the coil. I don't know the history of the radio and it was like this. Does anyone have any ideas on what happen to the radio and what could be wrong with it? Thanks.. |

Nothin' lighting up apart from the meter tells me that the voltage reg is gone but as for the burning well it seems to me someone has tried cranking the thing so much that the coil has overheated that would cause the volt reg to quit as it would be drawing too much current through it , just a thought . Thanks everyone for the help.. I knew the radio was in bad shape. Someone was wanting me to check it out and see what was wrong with it. Where is the voltage reg. in the radio? Think that it would hurt to replace it? The only thing that will light up is the meter though.... Thanks again for the info... :-) |
