I have a PC66XL I was going to use mobile with At this point stock Mic,Wilson 1000 Mag mount. Wanted to get out a little better Wit the adition of a Small RM amp. From what I read the Kits for swing and variable power are Not a good Idea But that I still need low dead key for the radio to run the amp cool and make it last. The radio was tuned at one time but nothing clipped.I was going to see if I can turn down the dead key watts, From past experence on several Cobra and uniden radios I don't think they would dead key lower than 3 watts some 3.5...Is 2 watts possible and how...with out the variable power and swing kit????? |

You can install a variable power and leave out the capacitor. With out the cap you won't have a swing kit. |
