I have a Killer Bee 250hdv i have been using mobile. Yesterday i went to turn it on and noticed a problem. I turn it on and it lights up normal, i key down, it shuts off. I turn it off for a few and i comes back on and does the same thing so... i bring it in the house and put it on my Cobra142GTL. It comes on and stays on and transmits fine however it cuts my receive down to nothing! I shut the amp off, my receive comes back. Weird...... help please!! lol |

This sounds like a common problem with texas star amps. Two little keying transistors inside, one is transmit and one is receive. I would start there and replace both. Kenny CEF491 Reading the mail around Indianapolis Indiana!

My Texas Star 500V does that same thing with cutting my receive. I will look for the receive transistor inside and see if I can fix it. |

Update: I replaced the transistor near the relay and it works fine now. Texas Star has a troubleshooting website that really helped me out. |

How do you get 175 without the amp on? I do not think this is possible with just the radio. HARVE UNIT199 CEF0210/CVC#018/HAM#010 Midwest 10 Meter Net Controller
