Im trying to wire the magnum 257 to a JCD 201M, and the colors on the mike wires that were sent with it are different than the ones that are mentioned in previous posts. I tried to figure it out from the diagram listed with the microphone but when I key up I get a squeal out of the external speaker.....any help would be awesome. |

No adapter, I just want to wire it to a six pin, the right way. |

Talked to the Copper tech today, and he gave me the "correct" wiring diagram for this radio. I re-wired it to his diagram, and it still squeals through the external speaker when keyed up. I think that this might have to do with the open recieve ground on the radio. It's always grounded, and not switched like the D-104. They should have disclosed that the microphone wouldn't work on some radios, and then list the ones that are not compatable..Just my two pennies |

Dummyload, I talked to our tech and he said he has wired lots of JCD-201Ms to Magnum 257s with no problems. I'm not saying you don't have a problem but rather we haven't experienced any with the Magnum 257. If you like you can call him again and try to work out the problem or return it for a refund.
