What radio has the best and quietest receive? I'm currently running a Galaxy DX939 and the recieve seems to carry a high level of white noise? |

Your Galaxy should be ok. I used to run the Galaxy 959 and receive was so good you could hardly tell it was on unless a signal came through. I also have a connex 4800 the same way.
Maybe it needs a tune up. Copper does good tune ups. The S9 I bought from copper has a quiet receive and I can hear stations miles and miles away. Of course a good well grounded antenna is number one and spare no expense on good coax with the best shielding. Connect the radio power wires directly to the battery. That's about it. Steer clear of power lines and truck stops! Hope this helps!

Now i have a Galaxy and the receive is not as good as radios like my magnum s-3 which has less noise than any radio i own and recive is great, now my self i was not impressed with the 959 but mybe it just me, but my cobra 29 seems to better to me, but the magnum is the best reciveing radio i own. Radios i own 3 cobra 29, general lee, stryker 440, cobra 150gtl dx, magnum s-3, and galaxy 949, and a 959, cobra 21 and a a.p. hill |

i sold my omega force because is was so bad with white noise and yes i had copper tune it.
i dont think ill ever order another magnum radio.
just my opinion.
