ive had the ant about 3 years but was just took out of the box about 6 months ago . put it up had low swr's . the other day i put it up in a tree about 50 feet now my swr's are 1.5 on channel 1 , 20 reads 2.0 and 40 is about a 2.5 . when i talk it goes way over a 3 . tested my coax with a ohm meter checked out good . im running RG8u 100ft. galaxy 44v with a palomar deluxe 500 base amp, afraid im goona burn something up any ideas btw ant has never been dropped or damaged thanks triple 9 in ga |

The tree is changing the velocity factor of the element in your A99 and making it look "longer". You have 3 choices- 1. Remove the A99 from the tree. 2. Install the A99 so it is way above the tallest part of the tree with no tree anywhere near it. 3. Cut the antenna (shorten it). Your radio 'Mythbuster' since 1998

tech 833 is right. id opt for choice #1 cause choice # 3 if ya move or tree falls your asntenna will be pretty much junk. cant put back on what ya cut off. dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64

thanks for the input took it out of the tree and put it back up side the house and i got less than 1.5 across the band |
