I received 18' of a relatively thin gray colored coax from somewhere (can't remember) along with a 7' Skip Shooter and I think it's labeled PRO8X 1620FT. It seems to SWR match well with my setup. Can you tell me what this is and if Copper sells it? Thanks so much. |

Jlheart, Sorry never used any PRO8X coax so cannot help you much there. But the MINI 8 coax that I personally use and highly recommend is the: Gray RG8X 95% shield Type from Copper Electronics, which I purchase in 500' rolls. C60-00006 RG8X Mini 8 95% Shield Coax [C60-00006] $0.24 500+ $0.20 Center Stranded, Polyethylene, 50 ohm, 1000 watt max. (500ft. or more) .20 ft. Hope this help's, Lon~Tech808 N9CEF CEF#808 Radio Enthusiast!

Pro8X was an inexpensive cable produced by a foreign maker for a while that was included with inexpensive systems sold in many truck stops around the country. Is is basically RG-8M with inadequate shielding. It is a budget cable, not a high quality one. If it works for your setup, great! Use it with the blessings of the ether. If you wish to upgrade someday to a cable with lower loss, Copper can help you out. Your radio 'Mythbuster' since 1998

Thanks much 808 and 833. I just purchased some of the RG8X Mini from Copper and it works great. Also have 50' of RG213? solid core from Copper but it's too stiff for some of my applications. Jack |
