I picked one of these up at a yard sale a few years ago. It says "Amateur 15 band" on the front. Is it worth the trouble to put on another band? I know it is just a sweep tube linear, but I really don't need one for 11 meters- I could use an amp on the ham bands though. I dont know anything about it. |

I would say it is well worth the effort. My dad used one of these back in the early and late 80's and it worked flawlessly and still does today asside from having to replace the HV caps.He was able to get 900 watts + out of the amp when driven with a JB-12 modulator.I am currently using it for my base station now and with a 4 watt drive the amp dead keys 350 watts. |

I say if you got the $$$ flow then go for it and keep that tube amp working like new. You might need it someday... Kenny CEF491 Reading the mail around Indianapolis Indiana!
