I have buddy who just got the antenna for christmas and he is having trouble getting the SWR's down. He said his little wil antenna is receiving better than the Patriot. He has 58U coax. i know that is the cheap stuff and high db loss per 100. He has a 140-150 run to make up a hill. I thought it might be a grounded out pl259 but any help or ideas would be welcome. Thanks |

have access to an analyzer like an mfj259? if not, try bringing the antenna to the radio-or radio to the antenna, using a shorter piece of better grade coax. like 20' or less & just put the antenna on a temporary mount at least 10-12' above the ground. if swr is good, you know 150' of 58 coax is exacerbating any problems. |
