Sorry I cannot help much with this topic but I would guess that all of the above you mentioned would work. Just be careful and make sure that no power lines are around. Lon~Tech808 N9CEF CEF#808~CVC#002 Radio Enthusiast!

During our field we like useing the fishing reel and rod, works great and then tie the wire antenna to it and reel it back over. but I'm sure all will work. George/Starface/KI4NBE CEF 476 CVC 014 HAM 181 SOUTHEAST CEF NET CONTROL

I use a compressed air powered tennis-ball cannon that I found the plans for on the internet. 150ft high branch - no problems.. Also great for exercising the dog, who loves to fetch balls. Tech237 N7AUS Chipmonks roasting on an open fire Hot sauce dripping from their toes.

When I was younger, I built a tennis ball cannon, but we use starting fluid as the propellant and a piezoelectric igniter from an old gas BBQ. But I would probably blow off a limp clean off at my age if I used that technique these days. Will go with fishing casting rod and reel. Thanks everybody, Joe Miglino |

no room to cast a fishing line here, the tennis ball/potato gun/slingshot process hits branches with the large leader. my 45lb pull vintage stemmler compound bow just ricocheted arrows & tangled the line. my 70 lb matthews just stuck a bunch of easton carbon fiber arrows into the tree. if i backed up far enough into the clear to shoot over the top of the trees....i'd shoot to rt 27a & that's not gonna go over well. i tied a weight to a piece of rope & lifted over a limb with 32' of aluminum tube....... |
