ok so im stupid but how does the CW work on the 2990DX

Hooked up a HK1 keyer to the back of the radio and when keying i hear the beeping on the radio but it does not make the beep on the air,,,,,, the on air reports says it sounds just like keying up the mic and getting a carrier only no beep

any help???????

You are in SSB mode right?

nope both radios are in CW mode but i didnt know cw was offset so once the rxing radio tuned in everything was allgood

ssb? I thought it has a cw switch. ssb is cw but,uhhh hmmm i dont know
