Ive read several post about the 257. I own the blue faced erf2030 version and have a Question. no where in any info i recieved with my radio did it mention having the top gun modulater in it. Nor is there any switch to turn it on/off. as with my S3. there are several that siad there radio (the erf blue face version) have it in it from the factory. so im confused! does this radio i have have it or not. is there a way to activate/deactivate it? |

Sorry, but the MAGNUM 257 does not have nor does it need the Top Gun Modulator.
It is a GREAT radio as is and one of the very few radio's that really needs no modification's other than a good Peak & Tune and a good antenna.
No bell's ~ No whistles just a GREAT little very well made radio.

Thanks 808 ive loved mine just wondering. like i said several have stated that they had one with it installed at the factory. |

The Magnum 257 radio has the CP1 Speech Compressor built in them unlike other models of the Magnum line which use the Top Gun Modulator which do not have a Speech Compressor built in them.
