Hi. Can somebody recommend the proper stake mount for a 2008 Ranger? I will be using a Wilson FGT 5 ft. antenna.

Thanks for the response. The description says that it's made for full sized pickups. Will it work with the Ranger do you think?

Stever, I tried to use a Iron Horse brand stake mount on my Mazda B3000 which is a clone of a Ranger. I never had much luck at all. I had one that was a different brand too, but it wasn't much better. There seemed to be too much movement in the mount and it never seemed to perform. From what I have seen, the stake pockets on mid size trucks are the same size as the ones on full size trucks. The main consideration you have to take into account is grounding the mount. Both mounts I had came with a small guage braded lead to attach to the body or frame. I highly suggest using the braid from RG-8 sized coax or larger. The lack of a good ground will kill the effectiveness of your antenna. And make sure the ground wire is touching good clean bare metal or your reflected power will be high causing a nasty SWR. I hope you have better luck than I did. Let us know how it works out! Take care-DAN
