Simple station here It covers 80 - 3/4 meters using a FT-840 as a HF base with a filter that cuts off at 40 mhz and a IC-706 as a hf/6 meter base filtered at 52 mhz and a FT-100d on 6 meters bandpass filter on 6 this allows me to set un and run 12 10 and 6 at the same time. The TS-2000 is set up for weak signal work with preamps on 160 - 2 meters 2 is bandpass filtered . A filtered 223 mhz station is also on line. I have disposed of several radios that were not being used. The 10 meter bandpass filter is switch around as needed and will retune to 6 meters if needed. The reduced antenna system from 11 feeds down to 6 right now with the R7 going up soon to replace the 12avq. |

For base HF operations I run a Ten-Tec Corsair for 80m-10m with a Ten-Tec 229B tuning an aluminum StarDuster ground plane. The StarDuster is up about 30ft to the feedpoint and fed with RG-58 coax. The 229B has a 4-position switchbox built-in. I also have a 300w dry dummy load and a 200ft dipole connected to it. My microphone is a computer headset which connects to the Corsair through a homebrew interface. I also have a Ten-Tec 645 Iambic keyer connected to the Corsair for CW operations. Homebrew interface connects the Corsair to my Dell computer and PK-232MBX data controller for slow-scan television and digital communications. Power supply for the Corsair is an Astron RS-35A. Back-up rigs for base HF include a Yaesu FT-920AF (with FP-30 power supply and MD-100A8X desk mic) and a Kenwood TS-440SAT (with PS-50 power supply and MC-60 desk mic). My base VHF station consists of a Kenwood TM-271A for 2m operations (back-up rig is a Yaesu FT-2400). It is powered by an Astron RS-20A and connected to a 12db gain collinear vertical antenna up 25ft to the feedpoint. My mobile station consists of a Yaesu FT-100 running 80-6m into a Hustler vertical with appropriate resonators (2m and 70cm bands into a VHF/UHF dual-band antenna) from my trusty old 2006 GMC Sierra 1500-F pick-up truck. I also run a Toshiba laptop in my mobile for slow-scan tv and digital comms. CEF #964 HAM #276 Let's play radio!
