What's the smallest/cheapest amp. from copper that will work with the S-980? I was reading about them in a thread some time before I purchased the radio, but can't find the thread now... Tnx. |

base? mobile? if mobile, will the vehicle handle the amp that works with a 75+ watt radio? you need to give more specifics to get an accurate answer....that said-texas star dx 1000, 1200, even 1600(no driver)will get decent output. you MAY be able to get it to work with a dx500v. |

I was looking at the DX500, would need a mobile amp. Then I could use for mobile/base. I have deep cycle battery banks at home, and in service truck. I also have high current quick connects, like the type used on elec. fork lifts so moving it around would be easy. Just short on cash. To many projects going. Would rarely need it at home, but would be handy in the service truck. From what I remember reading in the past, would need one with at least 4 transistors the handle input, and turn down radio... |
