I have a midland 13-882b 23 channel cb and would like to get it working (just something to tinker on) here is my problem on channel 1 it will key up properly but on channel 9 and up it will automaticly key up with out me using the mic. I think its a ghost lol when i key up the mic it unkeys but it only does that on channel 9 and up 1-8 works normal! LOL its a CB Ghost!!!!! Flying High and Flying Proud!!!!!!!! CEF# 1028

does it have a auto ch 9 switch ? On 6 since 66

no it doesn't the channels listed above in my last post are not exact if you would like I can test it again and give you exact channels Flying High and Flying Proud!!!!!!!! CEF# 1028

Some of those radios use a crystal plxer ( they mix crystals ) if one crystal is bad you will loose 4 or 6 channles. I converted several to 10 meters back in the early 80's On 6 since 66

ok I am new to crystals and pll's so how can I tell if one is bad and how do I test them? Flying High and Flying Proud!!!!!!!! CEF# 1028

If you see 4 crystals in one frequency range and 6 more in another ( 37 mhz and 10.7 are common ) that is a crystal plexer if you see a chip like a PL-02 that is a PLL midland had both in the mid 70's If you lose one of the crystals it wlll cause some ch to drop out ..... On 6 since 66
