WOOW ..... You cannot depend on antenna adds for real gain ... Gain is determined by the number of elm and how long the boom is. For any 2 antennas the same size gain will be about the same. Gain is about 6dbd ( 4X ) on a 9 foot boom with 3 elm ......and 9 dbd ( 8X ) on a 6 elm beam on a 18 foot boom ..... Here is one I know well and it does what they say it does ... www.hy-gain.com/Product.php?productid=VB-64DX} Again most antenna gain numbers are simply dreamed up ... On 6 since 66

well the maco is mostly made of wire actually. the smoking gunn is all alumin.between two ya listed id honestly would choose the jogunn. and NOT because of gain claims but i honestly believe it would outlast the v-quad dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64

You already have a vertical antenna, so why get a quad? I would get a yagi (horizontal beam) like a 3 or 4 element and mount the Imax above it. The yagi would have less wind load than a quad. Also the yagi can be turned with a light/medium duty TV Antenna Rotor. |
