I picked up an amp with 12 tubes. 1 driving 4 driving 7. It is gold, 4 tuning knobs across the top. meter, 4 switches, meter across the bottom. On the back it has Radio in 3-10 watts, exciter in 50-200 watts, antenna, radio exciter switch and a tune knob. It has separate transformer. Does anyone know what this is and have schematics or manual? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

You might post a photo of it ... sadly there are many amps built by fly by night places long lost to history. Now if your a ham you might be able to use it on 10 meters but most of those amps were TVI generators ..... On 6 since 66

Well it looks like one i seen back around mid 1970's . To match a Golden eagle. If its the one im thinking about it had power supply problems. Transformer went bad in a short time. To be honest im not shure. Maybe someone will know? Good luck Hal~Moderator136~KCØSVC CEF#0136/CEF HAM#23 ~ CVC#0004

I've never seen one like but it looks like it would be a badboy. Nice the way it's set up with the low or high power input. On the exciter position it probably turns off the five driver tubes and the input goes right to the seven finals. You can run a cb type radio in it or a 100 watt radio. It would be nice behind one of these high powered Galaxy or Rangers. D & A made a two piece called a Warrior but the power supply for it matched the amplifier, and it ran 16 tubes. Maco also made a two piece but it had Maco KW on the front and it ran 8950s or 2057s. Palomar, Drake and several more made two piece units but they didn't look like that one. Since that one doesn't have a name on it, it was probably made by a company that didn't make very many or that was an early production model. There were a lot of people making amplifers back in the day. The big question is, how does it work? |

Thanks for the responses. I think I found out what it is. I was told it looks like a Golden Falcon made by Andy Anderson. Probably 1500 watts. To big for my use. Probably trade it off. Thanks again. |
