Hello, I have an older Desktop Microphone that has the modulation controlls on the left side and the echo volume controlls on the left side, the Microphone protrudes from the top left side and the meter (VU) it on the upper right sied, there are two swithes toward the top and middle for roger beep and power, and toward the bottom on the right, there is the PTT and the Lock. I'm trying to figure out what Kind of microphone to replace the old one with as I got this gave to me and the mic has been removed, just the transducer part, at the top of the flexible mast, I don't know were to begin for reasearch as there is no Brand/model number, and there are three wires coming out the top Red, white, and shield, I've only ever seen two wires, so I'm not sure witch ones to use or should I use all three somehow, the microphone seems to function but cannot test it or know how to wire it for any radio untill I get it fixed, any help would be appreciated, P.S. this would remind you a little of a Echomax 2000 but is only black and white no other colors, again any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. 73's Barakuda318

(((UPDATE))) I was wrong there are four wires, White and shield (in there own insulation together) and red and black, and after taking apart the microphone I notice that the Red and black wires are going directly into the coiled wire that goes to the radio, I am assuming that all four wire would hook up together to the microphone so that when the mic is on you have amplification, and when it is not on you have just a normal microphone, although I am not sure of this, anyway if I can figure out how to post pics on here, I'll do so thanks. 73's Barakuda318
