what final is in the melaka base.
and can the final be upgraded to a bigger one ? if so what transitor should i install.
i would like to get just a little bit of extra power out of it. as i do not run any type of amplifier. right now it will dead key 2 watts and swing to 12 watts. i can turn the dead key up to 4 watts and it will swing around 18 watts. but at 18 watts i am scared i may blow the stock final.
any help or suggestion would be apreciated

The finals in the Melaka are big enough , if you try to add bigger ones you will cause trouble and frustration. Bigger finals is a hoax...The Melaka STOCK will do 20-25 watts

thanks for the reply, so is it safe to turn the radio up so it will swing 20 watts with out hurting anything ??

thats what it was doing. now its doing about 32 i recall, or maybe it was 36. its somthing in that area |

i can only get about 15 watts out of mine with normal modulation. it will do 25 watts on a good whistle but not normal talking. i wonder why mine does less than others ??

Normal talking, your average output may only be 15 watts, quite normal. Was the radio tuned or modulation increased in any way?

Yes i turned the am power up to 3 quarters and modulation all the way with a turner super side kick that has been worked on my an excellent tech. |

yes i have a modulator in it. it will dead key
1 watt and swing 15 watts. the amc is clipped in it also. modulation is very loud and clean. the melaka base has a lot of bang for $200.00 i am
very happy with it.

Mine is doing about 6 watt deadkey and swinging around 25 |
