this is the killer bee model. question is how much can i put into this amp?i know its a high drive,but how much is to much? thanks |

on AM, adjust radio output til amp shows about 40-50 watts carrier. turn mic gain up til you see 150-160 watts PEP. same for SSB, turn mic gain up til PEP is about 160. you CAN get more out, but amp will self destruct sooner rather then later. the high drive texas star amps many times show the same output with 'high' drive as well as 'low' drive, they were just built to absorb a bit more abuse while providing the same output. |

so if my 2950 dead key's 10 and swings 40 i should have it turned down before running the amp? |

I would, 10 watts deadkey is much to high of input for the Killer Bee. About 2 watts max. Like Pat00 explained, adjust your mic gain until you get around 160 watts pep from the amp. A 40 watt swing into the Killer Bee will get things a bit toasty in a hurry. Kenny CEF491 Reading the mail around Indianapolis Indiana!

yea 10 watt dk is WAY too much i agree with hotwire.2 watts max.20 watt swing should be fine dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64
