just purchased alpha v5/8 and a alpha v5000 just dont know which 1 to use yet but the qusstion is after i get the swr where its suppose to be would where the radials are clamped together with the clamps that came in hardware pack " instaed of using the clamps there weld them and would this hurt my tx and rx or change swr in anyway,thanks

Why weld?

I doubt it would hurt unless you burn up the aluminum.

I think what you want to really do is aluminum brazing.
The best aluminum rods for brazing are HTS-2000 Brazing Rods.
Works on non-ferrous alloys including "all" aluminum alloys (even the ones that cannot be welded), magnesium aluminum mixtures, zinc, die cast, pot metal, copper, bronze, and galvanized parts.
Use Any Heat Source, such as propane, butane, mapp, or an oxy-acetylene torch.
Just remember once you do this there is no turning back.
